MILITARY FIREFIGHTERS HERITAGE FOUNDATION RESTORATION PROJECT

In keeping with our Charter to maintain, enhance and improve the recording of the history of the HH-43 Kaman Helicopter and her crews the PRHA is proud to be assisting the Military Firefighters Heritage Foundation with their project to restore and display an HH-43 Helicopter.

The Garland Fire Academy on Goodfellow Air Force Base is home to the 312th Training Squadron. All Department of Defense (DOD) Firefighters are trained at Goodfellow. Goodfellow is also the home of the  Military Firefighters Heritage Foundation Museum and Firefighters Memorial. As the HH-43 Helicopter played an important role in crash firefighting and rescue in the United States Air Force from late 1950 through early 1970 they have acquired HH-43 Helicopter Serial #58-1841 from the Pats Museum of Transportation in Cesson, Texas for addition to their Firefighting Museum. The helicopter will displayed beside the Firefighters Memorial as depicted in the drawing below.
